The boys U11 White team rolled to two Futsal wins this weekend _ 8-2 over Lansing City Soccer Club on Saturday and 10-5 against the Michigan Hawks a day later.
With a rematch versus LCSC scheduled to take place on Sunday immediately following the Hawks game, one might reasonably have expected a weekend sweep.
But it wasn't meant to be as Lansing earned a split with an 8-5 win at Novi Christian.
United fell behind 3-0 and 5-1, but never gave up. Ashton Quinn's sliding toe poke drew PU within 6-4 with nine minutes remaining and Riley List made a number of key saves to keep the team in the game.
"Could it be that we were tired? We seemed kind of frazzled," said coach Mario Ramirez.
United looked like neither of those in the weekend's first two games.
Against LCSC on Saturday, Oliver Horswill netted four goals and Alex Cross had two. And on Sunday, Alex scored four and Oliver two in the win over the Hawks.
Dylan Schmitzerle stood tall in goal in both games.
The weekend's games concluded the White team's Futsal season.

U9 Girls win again
The U9 girls beat the Gators 8-4 yesterday morning. Once again, the girls showed off their footwork while passing and moving the ball down the field against a very physical team. In goal Abby and Laura defended well with support from the players in back. Caitlyn, Zoe, Laura, Katie and Lizzy all scored; Talia led goals scored with a hat trick.
Next Saturday the girls have a rematch against the Celtic 03White at 6:50 AM. Get lots of sleep and come with your game faces! Go United!
